WELCOME TO DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Department of Business Administration

The Department of Business Administration was established in the year 2009 with an intake of 60 seats and enhanced to 120 seats in the year 2014. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to meet the challenges of fulfilling the needs of society under resource constraints by providing new dimensions in managerial development. Environmental, social, ecological and economic forces influence every sector of business and administration. The MBA program prepares students for managerial responsibilities in business and other organizations, and also provides opportunities for teaching, research and higher studies. The department emphasizes analytical tools, case studies, business games, seminars, simulations, mini-projects and field visits to develop leadership and communication skills.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO’s)

PEO 1

To train the students of the management program for logical and practical approach to problem solving and function effectively as skilled managers who can respond to changing environment in a social and global context.

PEO 2

To groom the students to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams for effective problem solving and understand the principles of group dynamics, team work and growth of Management profession.

PO 1

Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2

Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO 3

Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
